Description:

A one-part silicone elastomeric coating specifically designed for use in roofing applications as a protective coating over spray polyurethane foam. Once cured this liquid applied silicone coating provides a durable, seamless, flexible, waterproof membrane that resists lateral movement, shear and will allow for normal expansion and contraction. Mil for mil, Sila-Koat 610 provides greater UV protection than similar silicone coatings and offers increased resistance to moisture penetration. Sila-Koat 610 provides excellent long term protection through exceptional weatherability properties.

Preparation

Prior to product application, pressure all surfaces to remove all dirt and debris that may impede adhesion. Apply Sila Koat 610 only to clean, dry, sound surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign matter.

Application

Sila-Koat 610 may be applied by medium nap rollers, soft brushes or conventional airless spray equipment. Apply Sila-Koat 610 only to clean, dry, sound surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign matter. For best results, ambient temperature should be between 50-80°F. Higher temperatures will shorten the cure time and working time for proper application of granules before the material has skinned. Lower temperatures will lengthen the skinover, tack free and ultimate cure time. Sudden temperature declines may also result in dew formation on surfaces, which can prevent adhesion development. For best results, relative humidity should be above 20%. Lower humidity will slow the cure time significantly.

Apply Sila-Koat 610 at the rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 sq. ft. per coat, with a two coat minimum requirement. Minimum dry mil thickness shall be above 25 mils.

PRODUCT APPLICATION SHOULD BE SUSPENDED IMMEDIATELY AND OUR TECHNICAL SERVICE PERSONNEL CONTACTED IF THE RESULTS BEING OBTAINED ARE LESS THAN DESIRABLE.
